Lyrics to “Beauty Redefined” by Jules Morrow

Take back what we let fade away
Voice of tomorrow, not product of yesterday
And once you feel it, you will never be the same

All that we can do is strut, now make it loud
Toss passion to the proud whose views are simply misaligned
Ask the brave: “Step forward help to straighten
all that’s been misshapen, torn and barely left alive”

We need beauty redefined

You’re captivating, don’t be captive to the lies
That just erasing is a picturesque disguise
I dare you look up and try to mold the skies

All that we can do is strut, now make it loud
Toss passion to the proud whose views are simply misaligned
Ask the brave: “step forward help to straighten
All that’s been misshapen, torn and barely left alive”

We need beauty redefined

Make up your mind and not your face
We all know it is a happier chase
And in the end you’ll finish out the race

All that we can do is strut, now make it loud
Toss passion to the proud whose views are simply misaligned
Ask the brave: “Step forward help to straighten
All that’s been misshapen, torn and barely left alive”

All that we can do is strut, now make it loud
Toss passion to the proud whose views are simply misaligned
Ask the brave: “Step forward help to straighten
All that’s been misshapen, torn and barely left alive”

We need beauty redefined

Goosebumps, right?! This fantastic song is a stunning example of a tool we can use to remind ourselves and everyone in our circle of influence that their reflection does not define their worth. That “beauty” needs to be redefined. That we can all step forward and help to recognize, reject and redefine “all that’s been misshapen, torn and barely left alive.” We thank Jules from the bottom of our hearts for singing out on behalf of this crucial work to reclaim “beauty” for all of us. One of the main questions we (Lindsay and Lexie) get after our Beauty Redefined speaking engagements or via our Facebook page and this website is, “How can I help?” We’ve been consistently in awe of the excitement and generosity of people who recognize the truthfulness and necessity of our work in a world that is so confused about women’s worth. Our supporters help us infinitely by sharing links to our website and research via Facebook, Twitter, blogging, etc., and a new way people have been helping us is by purchasing our uplifting sticky notes and note cards featuring our groundbreaking billboard designs/slogans. They can be posted in public places, in your own home, or handed out to anyone who could use a reminder that they are capable of much more than being looked at. We thank you so sincerely for your support, in any way you’re able to offer it, and we hope you will continue to join us in the battle to take back beauty for girls and women everywhere!
